    From what I know, you may want to check for foundation issues. I read that a problem in the foundation causes all kinds of problems that may seem unrelated - one of them being sloping floors (plus walls, gutters, etc.) I don't know why a visual would cost $300.00 - yikes - maybe you can get a survey for less.
