To teach life skills and build self esteem and self confidence in youth through fun activities using actual tools and toy tools with home repair parallels and media concepts in a safe and welcoming environment.
A supervised afterschool program
for youth ages 5 years and higher with a tools and real home repair theme. The curriculum is facilitated by motivational speakers, professionals, teachers, counselors, and contractors. There is an additional media component for the older youth, titled Y-Tool News. Selected youth serve as news anchors. The students write, edit, and produce an internet show to highlight the activities within the Safe Haven.
Inner city youth have become targets and victims of poor home environments, poverty,
lack of self-esteem, limited parental supervision, and diminished behavioral and life skills development. YT4Life addresses these issues with a fun, unique, creative, educational/tool approach.
