SHELLIE LAYNE

FOUNDER/CEO

Shellie Layne is the CEO and founder of the Women Under Construction Network (WUCN). She embraces her mission to empower and motivate women using tools, home furnishings, and home repair applications. Shellie is the visionary as well as former host and executive producer of "At Home with Shellie". She eventually wrote and created the weekly signature column of the same name in The Birmingham Times Newspaper.

 

Ms. Layne’s former career as a multi-million dollar producing real estate agent and broker and her vast experience in media and human service mixed with her warm, energetic personality allow her entrance into every woman’s world. She writes, speaks, produces, and develops media with a timeless foundational, back to basics message to build women in corporations, community, and civic organizations. As a keynote and group speaker, Shellie inspires women and challenges them using home-repair tools which she then aligns with life principles.

 

Shellie built the Women Under Construction Network on the foundation of transparency. The tool, furnishing, and home repair parallels that drive her work were born out of her own life experiences (positive and negative) as a woman, a mom, and a corporate professional. With her own elements of style and wisdom, Shellie works diligently to motivate, educate, and empower women in every facet of life.

 

Shellie is a native of Boston, Massachusetts. She holds a Masters in Education from Cambridge College. Among her vast number of awards and achievements throughout the years, Shellie is an AARP Purpose Prize Fellowship recipient; a coveted, national honor for her work with women. She has hosted and been featured on radio, television,
and podcasts across the Northeast and Southeast. She has hosted and been featured on radio and television shows across the Northeast and Southeast. Her radio spots "At Home Tips in a Minute" were syndicated and aired across the nation in twelve states and in over twenty-three markets. Shellie personifies the Women Under Construction Network mission – “Repairing Homes, Building Women, Changing Lives!”
